I write. That doesn't make me different. I'm okay with that. I'm different enough already.
The normal stuff... I've had my poetry published in (small) literary journals a few times. Here is a link to my appearance in online lit mag LITSNACK. It Started Like This. I write a lot of creative nonfiction, which is to say I write down the truth and make it interesting without changing it.
I've moved too much, but I'm done with that. Christmas is my favorite thing ever. I have an interesting love story to tell; it's the sort of thing no one could invent. I learned a lot in college. What I wanted to know couldn't be taught in any classroom; consequently, I learned it elsewhere. Katrina sucked. Life doesn't, even when it does.
More things matter than I have room for in my soul. I hate that. I'm not sure if that means the world is too big or I'm not big enough. I'm pretty sure it's me, but I go back and forth on that. I believe the past gives context to the present and weight to the future, even when we truly leave it behind us.
My first book White Hats Still Ride was published in April, 2012. It's dedicated to my grandfather.
I'm Alayne Fenasci... writer, inventor, and apprentice human being. Nice to meet you.
