I'm a big-eye artist who paints in the traditional way--I use acrylic paint on canvas. I paint big-eye art in the tradition of Margaret Keane, but with a twist of fantasy. My inspiration is the Blythe doll--a saucer-eyed vinyl doll with a huge hard plastic head which was originally produced for one year only--1972.

What is so special about Blythe? Blythe has a string with pull-ring located in back of her head which "magically" changes her eye color and expression with each tug of the string! Blythe has been reproduced for the last several years by Takara, and may be purchased on eBay as well as some online shops.

My Blythe doll art was featured in the July/August 2001 edition of Barbie Bazaar magazine in the article, "Blythe: American Gothic." My Blythe doll art was also featured in the October 2009 edition of Dolls magazine. I am author of the book, Big Eye Art: Resurrected and Transformed, which was published by Merrell Publishers in 2008.

Not only do I paint, I also love collecting other artists' work, mainly in the big eye realm. There are many talented artists (and friends) out there who greatly inspire and delight me.
