CatSimmons, also known as Catherine Simmons, has been writing for as long as she could hold a pen. She has a very wide range of interests and a passion for the novel and innovative.

This hub author is a Mother of “one of each” of the teenage human variety, and adopted Mother of "one of each" of the canine variety. She has also experienced divorce and is now in a new and committed relationship.

Catherine has a Master's degree in Molecular Genetics and has worked for about 15 years in the biotech industry.  Although she doesn't discount drug therapy, especially personalised medicine, she also believes that the cure to many diseases is to be found in our own personal power.

Over ten years ago Catherine suffered a stress related psychotic break, and two years following this (after emigrating to Canada from the UK) she was  diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder type I.   Since then she has recovered from any serious symptoms and is keen to share the knowledge she had gathered on the road to recovery. If you're looking for this type of information a good place to start is the hub "Best Bipolar Disorder Resources".

Apart from contributing to Hubages, Catherine also loves to read.  Authors like Candace Pert (Molecules of Emotion), Bruce Lipton (Biology of Belief), Deepak Chopra, Jung and others of the same mind capture her interest. She's also intrigued by evolutionary-development, epigenetics, nature via nurture, and memes amongst other subjects which aim to unveil what makes us humans human.

Catherine is now in a position to help people find the power to heal themselves from emotional issues (that so often manifest as pain and dis-ease) as she is now trained in Emotional Freedom Techniques. She has her own small business helping people to release their negative emotions via Skype and over the phone www.IndigoBridges.com.

Catherine's favourite mode of relaxation is take photographs, and she uses many of them to illustrate her hubs.  A great example is "How to Photograph Your Dog" which attained the Hub of the Day award only a few days after Catherine signed up.
