A simple hello or a quick smile could change someones whole life. Don't be afraid to be that change.

Thank you for stopping by my profile here on Hubpages. I am sure that you have better things that you could be doing with your time, and yet, you are here. So, I truly am honored.

My name is Christina, but you can call me Christina. Not Chris, or Tina, or Ed, but Christina. I make my home with my husband and two small boys in a beautiful part of New York state. We have two dogs, two cats, and two fish. Six months ago I would have had to add two rats to that but thankfully, ooops I mean sadly, those critters went on to rat heaven.

In 2006, my whole life changed when I became the mother of a deaf child. Although the news was shocking at first and hard to handle at times, with the help of family and friends, I am finally at a place of acceptance, understanding, and peace. Now I want to help others that find themselves in a similar situation.

I started writing long ago, telling my childhood secrets to my diary. Writing let me escape to a place where there are no rules and anything goes. I still love writing for this very same reason. Although it has a different meaning now than it did when I was a child.

I hope you enjoy reading my writing as much I enjoy writing it. Constructive criticism is always welcome!
