I was born and raised in the border city of El Paso, TX. At the age of 17, having already graduated from high school, I left for Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. Less than three years later I graduated with a bachelor of arts in philosophy and a minor in English technical communication. I substituted in local schools for a few months until I moved to Austin, TX, where I worked as an administrator. In August of 2007, I pursued a second degree at Texas State University in San Marcos. In May of 2008, I graduated with a bachelor of arts in journalism, specialty in print publication. Currently, I am married to the love of my life, Shane. He is a laboratory technician in the ARMY, and we are stationed at Fort Stewart, GA, home of the 3rd Infantry Division. We welcomed a wonderful baby boy named Donovan on July 17, 2008.
