Frank Gauthier is my pen name. I was born in Italy. I left for Montreal, Canada, on my own, when I was 19: so I did not have to do my compulsory military service. There I frequented the Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal graduating in engineering (geology) in 1973. I then went on to get a Master in Engineering (geochemistry) in 1974.  I worked for a few years in Northern Quebec, then left to teach Engineering at the Ecole Polytechnique of Thies, Senegal for CIDA, the Canadian International Development Agency. Back in Montreal I went back to school and got an MBA from Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (International Marketing), in 1980. I then worked for a number of Engineering firms in Georgia and California, as well as in Africa, South East Asia, South America and Europe. I live now in Piedmont whit my (female) companion.

I have already published two books: The first one, “ A Diamond Worth Killing For” was published in Italian by Gruppo Edicom” under the title “Diamante Assassino”  in 2007. If you speak Italian you can log into and get one copy of the book http://www.gruppoedicom.it/store/comersus_searchItem.asp

The second “Gold Kills Too” was published in e-format in 2009.

I  am now writing a book on the “Roero” wine district. I live in Roero now and I am astounded by the quality of its wines and of its cuisine. On top of it, it is still a little known area with few tourist and great hospitality.

I read at least a book per week. The books I enjoy the most are those written by Robert Ludlum, John Grisham, Ken Follet, Michael Crichton, Tom Clancy, Dan Brown, Le Carré, Wilbur Smith, Frederick Forsyth, Bill Bryson, the inspiration  for the Guide Book on Roero, and “ Holding the Zero” written by Gerald Seymour, from whom I was inspired in writing the first two thrillers.

I am a paraglider, and a windsurfer.
