I have had the desire to inspire others through the gift  of writing. The desire to write has been a long time passion. Hopefully, exercising my passion on hubpages will help develope into a legitimate writer.

Before exploring a desire for writing I had several other passions. One of my passions was to become a Disc Jockey. The desire to become dj began with a radio that was shipped to him from overseas by an uncle that was in the United States Army. After getting it in the mail and tinkering with all the bottoons and gadgets, thats when I knew that I wanting a career in radio and television.

Shortly, after acting out live radio shows in the bedroom. The idea of becoming an stage performer was birth. Then all of my life goals changed. From that day I started the journey of becoming a actor and radio personality, with backup plan becoming a politician.

All of these aspirations were dreams and goals that started in grade school. He developed his performing skills with his mother on local church programs, playing the drums and singing along with his sister as a background vocalist. His passion for politics came from watching and reading the works of Dr. Martin Luther King.

He was born in Conroe, Texas but grew up in Dallas, Texas where he attended grade school and high school. He attended High School at Franklin Delano Roosevelt. It was at Roosevelt where he developed his acting skills and became the Drama Club President. James left Roosevelt to attend Columbia School of Broadcasting, of Hollywood, CA, graduating with a Diploma and Certification in Radio/Television. After leaving Columbia he went on to host a radio show called MC TALK with Jimmy Johnson in the Conroe/ Houston radio market. Soon after becoming a weekly host, the show became a tool for him to express his views of local politcal issues. Which led to him becoming a community activist. That social and civic paticipation landed him in the Mayoral race of Conroe, Texas. He is the first and only African-American to ever attempt to run for the office of Mayor in the city's 100+ years of incorporation.

Shortly after the race he returned to Dallas and enrolled in acting classes at KD STUDIOS of dallas. After taking his classes he returned to his acting aspirations as an Actor. He landed many stage rolls in local productions such as A Raisin in the Sun, The Meeting, and a host of other plays. However, he always wanted to be on the big screen. So he begin auditioning for many local film projects. Landing him roles in films such as The Cusre of the Staving Class starring Lou Gossett Kathy Bates and James Woods. The short lived Fox series Lonestar starring Jon Vought and Fox weekly series Good Guys where he play a member of the Walter Gang. The Gang's leader was played by Dan Castellaneta of The Simpsons, voice of Homer Simpson.

Presently, James and his wife are owners of Personal Touch Janitorial Services. He continues his political goals and civic duties by serving as Planning and Zoning Commisioner of Lancaster, Texas. When he is not on a film set, broadcasting on radio show or attending a city board meeting, he can be found spending quality time with his wife, whom he has been married to for 28 years. Together they have 2 kids and 5 grandkids.

HUBPAGES is apart of my legacy as a host, father, christian, actor, soon-to-be author and a concerned community member.
