I have always read since I could and always wanted to write. Writing is something that I would like more time to do along with painting, sewing and anything else creative.
I recently began learning about pottery by attending classes and came home from my first lesson happy and with achey hands. Typing hands are not so good at stuff that requires real muscle...
I have spend most of my adult life being a full-time mum to six kids and now have fourteen grand-kids as well as a husband, two cats, one cockatiel and a tank of fish.
I did reasonably well at school, worked for a short time and then began my family.
When I first went back to work, I cleaned offices, cared for people in their homes and joined our postal service here in New Zealand.
I have lived in the same city (Christchurch) virtually all my life with the exception of Auckland, New Zealand for nearly two years and Brogo, NSW, Australia for a month.
My focus has been people and I've learnt a lot about relationships in my 50 odd years of living with and caring for others.
I guess what I am trying to say is that I'm your average mum and granma (Oma) and I love to write a little about most things, and I love to read good stories and interesting articles.
One thing I remember about reading as a child is that my favorite reading materials were comics, myths and legends and fiction such as written by authors like Maeve Binchy and more recently Jodi Picoult.
I love listening to uplifting and moving music and I love things like paintings, art-works, designs, looking at fashion and texture...etc.
That's plenty about me, I am looking forward to reading about you and your interests...nice to meet you!
