I am a practicing attorney. While my day-to-day practice involves the application of rather mundane facts to well-established law, on occasion I am called upon to advocate for changes to existing law. These rare moments of "real legal work" are a great source of satisfaction for me in my chosen profession. Modifications to case law are generally driven by public policy. As an attorney in these situations, my duty is to evaluate how proposed changes to the law will promote or impeded the interest of the public at large. I am fascinated by issues of public policy and the manner in which our legal system influences our communities and our nation.
