A. Lias Garcia.
Professor and journalist by profession, (BSc.) Spanish language and literature degree, and graduated of scripts for Radio and Television. Poet and Narrator. He was founder of the Association of young artists and writers of Cuba (AHS), member of the "Pablo de la Torriente Brau" literary workshop, and member of the "Benito Juarez Cathedra" at the Holguin University. He has gotten numerous awards, mentions and acknowledgment inside and outside his country of origin. Some of them are the award "Venga la Esperanza" (1994), Floral Games (2003) and UNEAC's illustrated poetry (2004). He also got mentions in the contests "Prize of the city" (Cuba, 2000), "III International award of the Ibero-American Cultural Center" (Argentina, 2005), I Prize international "Desiderio Macias Silva" (Mexico, 2005), and the international contest of poetry "Juana de Ibarburu" (Uruguay, 2006). His works are published in different magazines, journals and newspapers of Cuba, Spain, Argentina, Mexico and United Stated of America. He has had an active participation in the most important cultural events in his hometown. He participated in the "First International Meeting of Latin American Writers". He was rapporteur of the "Congresses of Latin American Thought" during the period 2005-2008. In 2003, he founded and directed the literary group "Ants' Cathedrals", and the Lalita Curbelo Barberán literary magazine. He has had a relevant job in cultural development, as specialist of the book and literature, Cultural communication specialist, Coordinator of the city awards. Currently resides in the city of Hollywood, in the State of Florida.
