Laura Gross Smith was born and raised in Berkshire County and held a variety of jobs before deciding that all she really wanted to do was write.  In 2013, she was the lyricist for a choral ensemble piece, Wu Xing, performed by Crescendo Chorus. Her first book of poetry, Spring’s Third Day, was published in 2010. Her work has also appeared in Spirituality & Health Magazine, Blackstick Review, Pathways Journal, and The Berkshire Eagle. She currently teaches Medieval literature courses for Oscher Life Long Learning Institute. She attended Mount Holyoke College and lives in Sheffield, Mass., with her son Zachary, four fantastic felines and two unruly Siberian huskies.
