Beginning in 1995 with a six month stint chronicling the rigors of working the salmon season in Valdez, Alaska, I have dedicated my life to experiencing all that the world has to offer. I put myself through school working in the restaurant industry, most notably Roland Passot's Left Bank in Larkspur, CA, where I really fell in love with the unlimited spectrum of wine and the endless discoveries that wine represents. I have travelled to many of the world's greatest wine making countries, France, Italy, Spain and one of the earliest, Greece. An expert on all of California's wine regions and A.V.A's, I have also explored Oregon's Rogue River, Umpqua and the renowned Willamette River Valley, also spending time in the Columbia Valley in Washington. For over ten years, I hosted as many as three weekly Wine and Food tastings for the employees of Trader Joe's Company, attending scores of trade show tastings along the way. My goals for the future include starting a selective wine importing company that brings lesser known, small production lots of foreign wine to the San Francisco Bay Area. Plans are afoot for planting/cultivating grapes on a recently purchased plot of land in the hills of Contra Costa county. Fatherhood has launched me into the realm of children's literature, stay tuned.
