Writing and Making Money with Associated Content

Associated Content has been around over three years now. With a run like this it seems fairly certain that only good can come from writing for them. This is a website that is easy to write for, pays a couple of different ways, and can help one make a good living from writing.

While they only pay upfront for text articles, you can also make performance pay on slide shows, podcasts, and videos. This opens up a lot of options for making money.

Associated Content makes it easy to publish. However you have to follow their directions step-by-step. Up till the time your article is published you have the option of editing and deleting your article. Once it is published it is on their site forever, unless they choose to remove it. You can't remove it, even if you decide to go elsewhere (by their terms of use). So, write your best and write things you want your name, pen name, or screen name to be on.

To begin pulishing click the publishing tab. You will find a list of different types of media there. You can then click on the type you will be adding to the site. After that you can follow the directions as they take you through publishing your content.

Associated Content allows you to submit your work for review. You can choose to ask for upfront payments. This is a very simple part of the process that will later be explained. If your article is accepted for upfront payment it will be worth $3-20, and some say as much as $25. Most articles will be worth the smaller amounts (the most I have made to date is $7.20).

Once your article has been accepted it will be published and paid for within a week to a week and a half depending on when the weekends and any holidays fall. However, you may have to wait for up to two weeks to recieve an answer from them.

In the past it was fairly easy to get articles accepted for upfront pay (other payments have been added fairly recently). As their library of information has grown it has become harder and harder to get articles accepted for upfront pay. To pay you upfront that want an article on a new topic, or one that goes deeper or broader then other articles that are already there.

Performance pay is Associated Content's newest payment form. They will pay $1.50 for every 1000 page views that all of your materials make. This can add up nicely and can make for a great way to have a passive or semi-passive income coming in your way. They pay out your performance earnings at the start of the following month, after you have reached $1.50 or more. If you have made less then $1.50 it rolls over untill you have accumulated that much.

Associated Content does what they call calls. These are job offers for articles about a specific topic. They will have instructions about what they are looking for, how long they want it to be, what type of media they are looking for, how much they are paying, and other details on a pop-up type page after you have clicked the link. You can take these calls and make the amount that they are paying as long as you follow the instructions.

To take the call, click the claim button. When you have the article ready (or other media ready) then click the link under your claimed calls section and click submit. It will then provide you with step by step pages to upload and add your information.

You will know within a few days if it is accepted and you will recieve payment quickly as the article is published on the site. You will also recieve performance pay. Not all calls have upfront payment, but all are worth performance pay.

Getting used to the Assocaited Content system takes some time, but it is well worth it. With upfront payments on some articles and performance payments on all of them you can make a nice little sum on this site. It doesn't take a lot of extra time and it can be fun to use. Over time you can watch your articles make more and more money from performance pay and you can watch your influence, page views, and even subscribers grow.
