Better Than a Blender?

Whether or not the Kenwood SB206 Smoothie Maker does its job better than any old blender may not be an issue as important to contemplate as world hunger or global warming, but it does have its place among the culinary scheme of things. The smoothie is a wonderful concoction that allows children and those among us who act like them to get the extra vitamins and calcium from fruit and vegetables that we need to stay healthy in a fun, easy, quick and tasty way.

The Kenwood Smoothie Maker is especially designed to mix and serve cool refreshing smoothie drinks. It is easy to clean and very powerful, so much so that some consumers have complained that the Kenwood Smoothie Maker is a bit “too noisy” when running. It needs its powerful motor though, or else it could not blend ice, frozen fruit and ice cream into one fine smoothie as effectively as it does. The blades of the Kenwood Smoothie Maker are especially designed to provide a consistently smooth drink every single time. This is also accomplished by the funnel shaped goblet, which ensures that all the ingredients are drawn upon the blades for optimum results. The Kenwood Smoothie Maker’s rubber feet provide good grip and stability.

But does the Kenwood Smoothie Maker make a better smoothie than the average blender? That is the $64,000 dollar question although the answer is not nearly as expensive. Alas, the response is not really. Many reviewers of this product have stated that although it is a satisfactory appliance, the Kenwood Smoothie Maker (as well as other brands) are what as known as “one-trick ponies” and once the rubber grooves wear away, no more smoothies for you! The smoothie makers of the world cannot outdo the versatility and endurance of a good blender.

That’s the story. You are on your own.
