Maybe it is just me but my local Post Office is not user friendly, I am waiting for the PostMistress to pull a gun and start shooting, this perhaps then gives you some idea of their attitude...

holed up at the postoffice,
..and I was the postmistress.
I could pick them off perfectly
with my new AR it was almost criminal
I tried to remember what set me off,
that f**ker Drax
who cares…
I was determined to take the SWAT with me
this time, no quiet relocation somewhere else
f**k that, that smacks of catholic church
just one priest, is that too much to ask
please my prince let me take one priest with me
call it a massacre bonus….

I sometimes feel that about semi local postmaster at a privately owned post office.
He is big fat and ugly and unwilling to be helpful.
I now drive 15 Km to use a user friendly PO and is open on Saturday morning.
I guess you will never have everything you want .
Mr M, hmmm perhaps there is something to be said for going to the Post Office with an automatic weapon, by way of introduction,....you could say,
Hi is everyone having a nice day and they would say yes, yes Mr Marmalade we are having a nice day and hope you are very well also... ..Drax..
That may be a good idea.
I have found the perfect crime.

I just order my stamps through the internet and use curbside mailboxes.

I love your normal days. what is mundane for you is exotic dreams for me. I could read you all day long. when that happens, you can switch one of the letterz in exotic for another one to know what kind of dreams I have.

When I was in my beloved NY, there is a post office that has employees that are so nasty that an article was written about them in the local paper! I hated going there.:(
In the West Coast rural town I live in now, the local post office employess are sweethearts... they are very helpful and friendly, and my mate and I appreciate this because we have a business that requires we visit the post office almost everyday.

good point, d. as you noted, being assertive about not being walked on is not the same as being unempathtic to other people or treating them poorly. it's about self-defense.
