I'm originally from UK, but came to Sydney, Australia in 1989 on a working holiday. Didn't know if I'd stay 3 days, 3 weeks or 3 years - that's what I told people.
Fate stepped in, I landed a great job, was sponsored into the country, lived in fabulous Watson's Bay, learnt to sail and then met my future husband! That was all in Sydney.
After 4 years, we were moved with work to Melbourne where we lived for 11 years, before I finally said: You know I moved to Australia for the beach and the lifestyle!
So in 2004 we upped sticks, did the sea change thing and came to live on the Gold Coast.
It's not all been plain sailing, but I fell in love with the Gold Coast and we have slowly built a life and a lifestyle here.
I am so passionate about the Gold Coast and making sure people get to see more than just Surfers Paradise, that I started a website in 2006 about travelling to the Gold Coast.
I write for it when I can, I love doing the research! Sometimes it's really hard, like when you just HAVE to review a whale watching tour or visit Sea World to take photos - but someone has to do it!
We have two children who are both really sporty, and so we are in just about the best place on earth for them to pursue their dreams. It also makes life very hectic.
