Stop the madness....

What happened to objectivity in journalism? Fox News gets its new sources and daily talk from a fax directly from the White House. It’s like the hand of the white house is rammed up Fox’s butt like a ventriloquist with a dummy. MSNBC’s redundancy about Obama and how he will get all of the "African-American votes in populated urban areas with high concentrations of blacks..." (Funny when the news talks about the political machine people are African-American, but your just "black" when the referring to living in an urban "jungle"), subliminal racist comments crack me up!

And CNN does same the MSNBC jargon; they are just more “statistical" with pretty real time charts. But, where CNN (as well as the politicians’) really blows is that now the emphasis is more on the Latino votes. I remember when forms and applications had white, black, and other. As soon as it is discovered that an ethnic group can be capitalized upon they will hand out the 15 minutes of fame. I heard "Si se puede" for Hilary and Barak (I did not hear that chant for McCain, but then again, maybe his Latino voters are fully assimilated into the melting pot). I wonder if any of them can tell the difference between a Puerto Rican, a Cuban, and a Mexican. Some people can’t tell the difference of someone who is Dominican from someone who is African-American. I won't even get into the ethnic groups of South American. How many years did it take Americans to stop saying "Spanish People". Anyone with a 5th grade education should know that Spanish is the language, not a description of people.

I do not hate any ethnic group. I am throwing shade to the media. The candidates are playing the cards they are given by the dealer, who happens to be the media. Somewhere between WWII and the formation of Israel, people wanted the Jewish vote. This was partly as a result of the Holocaust. Most candidates at that time obtained their vote by speaking against the Holocaust. Yet, it took those same politicians’ a number of years and over six million preventable deaths to admit Hitler was a sociopath and a lunatic. The Japanese never really were sought after, and maybe that’s because we built them concentration camps in California for our own “National Security”. In the 80's the Dems’ wanted the hardworking "Blacks" who rose above Jim Crowe. But whether you Black or Latino the Republicans are not really reaching out except for Cinco de Mayo and Dr. MLK day. And Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday :). They just milk the cow until it’s dry. I wonder who the “white ethnic women” are. Maybe they are the Non-African American, Non-Latino, Non-WASP women. Small side bar, wonder why we don’t say Latino American. My rant is over.

Do you think any of the candidates can rise above racial undertones and actually lead this country? I don't see any of the candidates as racist. I do however see the media definately focusing on the ethnicity of voters. Regardless of anything else, more people are going to the polls and using their right to vote. the democrats alone each recieved over a million votes in texas last night.

I wish that one of the candidates from either side would pull the media's card for the racial undertones. I just don't see Cronkite or Shaw acting like this. But then again Britney Spears is the headliner on the Today Show and Good Morning America. I do not think the candidates are racists, I just wish they would grow some and get to the issues that all americans care about. The economy, debt, jobs, and the welfare of their families.
