There is virutally a vast difference in the standards of umpiring between ICL umpiring and IPL umpirings.

Whereas the umpiring in ICL is of high standards and even if they go mistake it is corrected by challenging it, it is not so in IPL.

In yesterday's match Rajasthan Royals Shane Watson had Yuvaraj plum LBW when the batsman had hardly scored 12 runs. The umpires decision went unchallenged. If that decision had gone Rajasthan Royals way then Kings XI Punjab certainly could have not scored 166 on the board.

Thanks to superb knock by Sane Watson the match was won by nearly 11 balls to spare.

IPL has gone wrong in many ways. Their website iplt20 is never updated to know the latest and all about the matches. The website has advertisements on it. It loads very slowly. It is not ranked highly in Google.

I like the organisers of Indian Cricket League but not Indian Premiere League.

Bad Umpiring may be the cause of Team Hyderabad's Loss - 22-04-08

I have already said that umpiring in IPL is worst. The match between Delhi Darevils and Team Hyderabad is one.

Sehwag who played a superb knock was OUT very early in his innings when he had hardly crossed double figures. On Chaminda Vaas bowling he was clearly plumb LBW and why he was not given out God knows. Such is the type of Umpiring IPL has which cost the match for Team Hyderabad, since Sehwag later went on to play some solid strokes and won the match with some 7 overs to spare.

CHENNAI SUPER KINGS CRUISE THROUGH INSPITE OF BAD UMPIRING

It was Sachin Tendulkar's Birthday, probably the umpire thought to gift the match to him. In the second innings when Mumbai Indians batted Uttappa was plumbed LBW at least twice if not thrice when he had just scored one run. But the umpire could not see the line of the ball. The media too blocked out this bad decision. The media was totally biased against Team Chennai. The camera never turned towards the spectators, it never showed the celebrity Nayandara who was present there. Such a hira-curry in the IPL cannot be pardoned. The camera never was following the ball when a shot was hit. It was such a frustration to watch the match sitting in front of T.V. not knowing if the ball had gone to six or had been caught.

Anybody hearing there. Reprimand and change the umpire who are not to the mark. Change the cameramen who are inept in getting the action shown to us as it is instantly.

Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Kings of Punjab XI

In the match between team Kolkata and team Punjab the wickets of team Kolkatta were falling in heaps in the beginning of the match. When Pathan was bowling having already had two wickets he seemed to have bowled leg before the wicket to the other batsmen too. But the umpire looked so confused that he stared confusingly and started rubbing his chubby cheeks. He was in two mind whether to give out or not. In this short version type of game every single decision of the umpire is paramount to the fate of the game. Hence he should not go wrong anywhere. But umpires still do not refer the decisions to the third umpire and just stand there like a confused doll. They are stubborn to change themselves with the sole reason that in all ICL matches that was conducted the umpires on the field had referred doubtful decisions to the third umpire, but IPL do not want to follow ICL foot-steps. But when you find good things somewhere what is wrong in following it? Thus the competition of iplt20 is being conducted with dubious umpiring decisions. Surely enough in the SEMI-FINAL and the FINAL it is not the players of any team who are going to win the games for their team but it is the umpire decisions which is going to decide the fate of the teams. If the umpire likes some team maybe that team will go to win the IPL twenty20 Cricket.

IPL twenty20 you have a lot to learn, learn fast and rectify the mistakes.

PLAYERS MOODS

At least in two matches it was observed that the Indian players playing the last over have not dared enough to finish the game themselves. The player would have hit sixes and when he was bound to do the same for the last ball or two he has crossed over and has given the batting to the other fellow and this other fellow always happens to be a tailender and you know the result. In one match Chennai Super stars won the match and in the other team Bangalore won the match.

Two dubious decisions of umpire in the first over and first innings of CSK may cost the match itself for CSK.

Two dubious decisions by umpire Asad Rauf in the very first over of the Chennai Super Kings first innings took the interest out of the match completely. All the fans of Chennai Super Kings glued to T.V. had either switched off the T.V. or have switched the channel. The fans of Chennai Super Kings at the stadium were furious at the umpire but could do nothing. Does the bowler's name and the umpire's name gives you some clue. The fans of Chennai Super Kings and even Jaipur teams at the stadium had nothing to cheer about sitting there. The game turned out to be a formal one. No thrills nothing. The culprit is umpire Asad Rauf. Ban him for future matches. People like to watch only fair contests and a umpire cannot decide matches. But the two wrong decision given by the umpires took the fighting spirit out of the Chennai Super Kings players and they played the match for formality sake. The bowler who was lucky to get the decisions in his favour was left-arm seamer Sohail Tanvir who went on to take further 4 wickets and thus he created a World record taking six wickets for 14 runs. .

5^th May 2008

On 3rd May 2008 there were two match destroying bitter dubious umpiring decisions one given by West Indian umpire Billy Doctrove and the other by his compatriot Suresh Shastri. This was the sole cause of Team Hyderabad loosing its match with Team Bangalore. The soft spoken and seen VVS Laxman was going beautifully batting and taking along the innings alongwith Rohit Sharma to an easy win. When Billy buried him with his leg before decision. The ball pitched outside the leg stump and hit the batsman's pad. Five balls later death blow was dealt to Scott Styris who also has in him the ability to finish the match successfully.

Even Team Bangalore's Misbah-ul-haq was given out leg before by Billy to a ball which clearly was passing over the stumps.

Both BCCI and ICC are least bothered about these decisions and the outcome of the match. Why? Is there something behind this? Why are they looking the other way when they are questioned. Why nothing is said about the umpires faults. Why not ban the umpires? Why not follow the method of ICL where the players can challenge the decisions thrice in an innings. Why not refer the decision to the third umpire as it was done by ICL in all its matches. Indian Cricket League is far well organized in this department then to Indian Premier League.

Chennai Vs Delhi

8th May 2008

See the Joke of the Day : Vidyut made a quickfire 40 of only 23 balls and established a platform. Fleming was all over the bowling and hit a quick 44 runs of 28 balls. Morkel hit 30 runs of only 15 balls. Balaj, Morkel and Murali restricted the total of Delhi innings. Dhoni was all the time in the field was giving negative contribution. His stay virtually was sealing the match for Delhi and in the end some smart fellow decides to honour him with Man of the match award and a cheque.

Umpires folly: Umpire doing his job in this match had all going it wrong. He declared 6 a ball when actually it was 4 during Delhi's innings. Later when Raina saved 4 runs the umpire declared it as four later changed it to 3. That bad decision if gone without change then Chennai would have lost the match.

Murali's demand for a LBW was turned down when he had clearly plumbed Dhawan, later again it was turned down when Balaji bowled a superb ball and the player was plumb LBW.

If you have been watching iplt20 cricket you would have noticed the umpires calling it wrongs many a times.

If you had been watching ICL cricket matches you would have noticed that not a single judgment has gone wrong there. If they get doubt they refer to the third umpire. There is also the challenge card, where the players can challenge a decision and it will be referred to the third umpire.

Yesterday in the match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils again the umpires had been calling wrong and always the suferer was Delhi Daredevils. Which ironically is the sole reason for the defeat of Delhi team yesterday.

Even before when Rajasthan team played with other teams the umpires were always if favour of Rajasthan teams.

Are umpires afraid of Share Warne? I am sure if the umpire gives wrong decisions against Shane Warne he is going to lamblast the umpires through media and may go to the extent of complaining against him with BCCI through his sponsors.

Because of this....ipl lost its glamour, it is frustration for the fans of a particular team here Delhi team. Chances of people losing interest in future matches looms large.

The loss will be for cricket!!!
