Hiking up to that large white letter is a rite of passage for anyone who cares about this city. It's 620 feet up the side of the mountain, and you can get there from a main switchback trail. Be warned; this is a tough hike!|

Waterworks Hill Hike to the Peace Rock
At any given time, there are at least five cars parked up by the entrance to the hiking trail on waterworks hill. It's a popular spot for joggers and dog walkers. At the top of the hill, you get an amazing view of the whole of Missoula. You can also see the peace rock. This is the site of an old billboard of peace. Although the painted peace sign and billboard are long gone, hikers have constructed a peace sign made out of rocks in its place.

I havent been to Montana but when I go traveling I usually loose weight - not sitting on my butt for 8 hours in front of the computer I think - and leaving the car and fridge at home means more exercise and less snacking!
