5 Tips for Amazon Affiliates: How to Find the Best Amazon Products to Promote.

Updated on April 8, 2014

How do I pick the best Amazon products to promote at Hubpages?

If you are like many people here at Hubpages or if you are a blogger, you are probably looking for a way to make more money with Amazon. Like many others here at Hubpages, I have learned how to earn money with Amazon. But it didn't happen overnight. Through trial and error, I have been able to get real results with the Amazon Affiliate Program. And like many bloggers, I have discovered how much fun it is to be an Amazon Affiliate. There really is no limit to how much money you can earn as an Amazon affiliate by writing product reviews and sharing Amazon links on your website or article pages.

If you are a hub writer who is learning to write product review hubs then you are probably wondering how to pick the best Amazon products to promote. You want to know, "Why should you write about one product and not another?". So I wanted to create an article with 5 of the strategies that I use to pick the hottest products over at Amazon.com.

I hope these tips and tricks work as well for you as they do for me.

Best Amazon Products to Promote

  • I like to write reviews on products that I have used and love. This is by far the easiest method because when you write about a product that you are familiar with it means writing about it will come naturally. Also, you will not be spending so much time on research. Think about what are some of your favorite things to do and what are some of your favorite gadgets and such. Then see if they are available for purchase at Amazon. I am shocked at some of the items they sell. There is a huge variety to choose from. For example, we like to make home made ice cream in the summer time, so I wrote a review about the ice cream maker that I use.

  • Write about a product that is on your wish list. Is there a product out there that you have been wanting to own for a long time? Then write about it. Answer the following questions for your readers. Why do you want it? Why is it such a great product? Who do you know who has one and how do they like it? What will you do with it once you have it?
  • Write about one of the top sellers listed on Amazons website. This is a good one, but it can be a competitive strategy because lots of other affiliates do the same thing. But you can still make money on these products because there is tons of traffic. Be sure to pick a product that has 5 star reviews. And do your research. Read some of the reviews on Amazon to see what people like and hate about the product. Also, do a search on hubpages and see how many other people are writing about this product. After doing this, you may decide to pick a different product.
  • Write about a topic that you are passionate about. Then go to Amazon and tie in some products that someone might like. For example if you are passionate about horses, you may want to list some books about the subject. Or perhaps list some horse artwork or posters. Someone who loves Yoga, may add some yoga mats in their Amazon capsule.
  • Promote products purchased by your readers, that you haven't written about yet. This is my favorite trick! I like to open my Amazon Orders report and see if anyone has purchased a product that I am not already promoting. This is a huge tip! I noticed that someone purchased an item on my hub and while they were at Amazon, they purchased a few more items. I went to the Amazon and saw that the product they purchased was getting great reviews. So I created a hub about that product and by the following week had two orders.
