Five impressive Hubs
Hubber knowledge and talent never cease to intrigue us
First, this will be a relatively short newsletter this week, since we don't have a Hubber to Hubber interview ready. We should be ready with one next week, and, as the final newsletter for 2009, I will be thanking those Hubbers who have been helpful behind the scenes (they deserve thanks from all of us, really).
So, for this week, I'm going to share 5 of my personal picks for cool Hubs that I've discovered this past week. I think all of them are great, for different reasons:
• Why Should We Care? 15 Ways To Increase Traffic To A Hub by Rebecca E. - Rebecca candidly shares her advice for those who are new to HubPages and would like their Hubs to enjoy an audience. By the dozens of comments already left on her Hub over the past few weeks, it's clear she knows what she's talking about!
• If your boyfriend is on drugs...How do you tell him you are pregnant? by SweetiePie - Lots of people with difficult personal issues like this one seek the advice of people who can respond rationally and compassionately, and SweetiePie certainly does that. Plenty of great opinions in the comments as well.
• How to Make Raw Goat's Milk Yogurt from Raw, Organic Milk - An Illustrated Guide to a Simple Method by Joy At Home - Like all of Joy At Home's Hubs, this is a richly informative guide on how to turn goat milk into yogurt. With step-by-step instructions and explanatory photos, and even a FAQ, this Hub is a treasure to anyone who would like to make raw milk yogurt.
• How To Wear Leather Leggings by frogdropping - With honest advice about how to pull off a trendy new look, frogdropping shares the advice the sartorially adventuresome need to read. As always, with a great sense of humor ("Do not attempt to recreate the 'stirrup pants' look. It was nasty the first time round and will forever remain ... nasty").
• CO2 Causes Global Warming. Here's How We Know by William R. Wilson - A timely compendium of information that explains the relatinship between atmospheric carbon dioxide and rising global temperatures. What's particularly valuable are the "visual aids" (charts) and plenty of links to support the points he made.
Are these the only five cool Hubs I've read this past week? Not even close. The contenders among the HubNuggets (see below) were another 10. I read quite a few more terrific Hubs that were useful, funny, interesting, inspirational or otherwise very much worth reading this past week—I just don't want to overwhelm you guys with a very long list. :)
Until next week, Happy Hubbing!
