The more reasons that you rule out the easier it will be to control your cat marking problem and issues so you can contain the problem before your cat makes it a normal habit that they have.

The first reason why your cat marking can be happening is because they could have some form of an infection. The second reason that your cat can be marking is if the litter box is not cleaned. Now the cat marking problem that is associated with an unclean litter box would be that the they are more likely just relieving themselves outside of the litter box because they cannot stand the stench inside of their own litter box. So you will want to make sure that you have ae clean litter box to help you rule out the problem of cat marking.
