Designer Dog Houses

Dog Houses

Ok so the days of plain and simple are out. People no longer want the plain old box style, four walls, a floor, and a roof style dog house, and it's definitely not the plain old igloo dog house, either. You'll see celebrities spending hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars for a custom dog house for their dog to hang out in. Well, more people are catching on, not many more, but a few more.

There are businesses that do nothing but build custom, designer dog houses, and some of these houses look like child's doll houses. It's nuts! I mean, some of these houses are one step away from internet, cable, and air conditioning. You might as well add the fridge and freezer too.

I mean, I'm all for dog comfort with a soft bed and tons of toys to play with... But, well, just check out some of these designer dog houses.

Building a Custom Dog House

If you are interested in building your dog his own designer dog house, you can go right ahead, just make sure that you add the A/C play room, and bedroom. You want your dog to have all of the amenities that you have in your home... To some extent of course.

There are many people who make their dog house a mini- match to their own home d├ęcor and style. It is a very interesting concept, that I don't think that I'll be investing in any time soon, but many people find it a great asset to a home design.

If you really want a decent designer dog house, you are going to end up paying a good chunk of change. Most of the larger designer dog houses are near $1,000, if not much more.

Although, the designer dog houses may look much nicer, your dog will be just as happy with a wooden dog house. You can check out some of the fancier wooden dog houses below.

Dog Mansions

Buy a Designer Dog House

If you just want to spend the extra money and have a designer dog house built for you, you can check out the following websites that offer custom, designer dog houses, as well as dog mansions.

Beyond the Crate has a number of celebrity style, designer dog houses for sale. These dog houses are a bit pricier than some of the others that are available. The cheapest designer dog house that is offered is the just over $3,000 dog beds, whereas the more expensive is the $30,000 Hacienda dog house. Beyond the Crate also features other fancy dog accessories.

You can have a luxury dog house built straight for your pooch. These dog houses look just like child's doll houses. They are just under $1,000, which makes them cheaper as well, but of course the actual price will vary on your floor, roof, heating & cooling, and overall furnishing options.

Those dog houses are better than the house I live in. Not fair!

I agree. These are pretty nice. $600 isn't bad for a dog house. I've seen some (not as elaborate as these) but cost a pretty penny.

Oh my, I could move in to one of those!!! Absolutely amazing!!! I thought our critters were spoiled!!!???? lol.... we're building a "baby barn" for two of our does ready to kid any day.... we spent $600 on materials and who knows how much in labor!!! We keep wondering, if the girls have clue we're doing all this for them and their new babies coming!!! lol!!!!! Perhaps we'll tackle a doggie mansion in the future!!!! :-) GREAT hub!
