HE IS AN ANGEL

Dedicated to all who make the effort

HE IS AN ANGEL

Though life is hard and days are long

Toiling, working from early dawn

A loving soul continues on

For the love of animals

Old and young

He was not dealt a winning hand

His possessions meager and rarely grand

To give and give...and not demand

He took an oath on which he'd stand

For the love of animals

He does what he can

This selfless man,

This unselfish soul

Has a long term plan

And a definite goal

A dream from which he never wavers

A wish for which he asks no favors

His reward is in the sweet, soft purr

Of the cat and kitten, and he can be sure

The lives he holds in his caring heart

Will forever and always be a part

Of his warm presence and compassionate home

From which, no more, will they need to roam.

So, "Here's to you", kind man, sweet one

From here to eternity, since you've begun

As you reach out to save another creature

You are held in esteem; you are a treasure

Unique, individual, and rare, indeed

As you continue on to fill this need.

Bless all those wonderful people who give of themselves in so many incredible ways for the safety, love and appreciation of animals.

Oh, thank ou Tammy...such a nice comment...and it goes for you, too. Al is alone in SE Kansas right now while I'm in Calif. and it's a big job taking care of all the animals there...I brought quite a few w/me to CA and we are, of course, bringing every one as time allows. Bless you

Sunnie...thank you so much. It's so nice to be able to take the time to visit HP for a little bit...I always am honored to see that you've visited.

Nat, I will definitely pet the kitties for you...and thank you for the kind comment.

Kathy, another beautiful poem...

Augustine and Othello, rough housing? Which one is winning? I'd like to think it's Augustine.

A never ending struggle to fight the good fight. You and Al are so selfless. How do you find the time and energy? I miss seeing Smoky mama, and the rest of your family here. So glad you've found the time to visit. Miss you!

They say a person with a cause in life is truly happy, so I do believe your Angel friend is happy in spite of any imperfectness in his circumstances. This is a lovely tribute to him.

It is good to see you back, Kathy. Your tender, lovable personality makes visits in your corner a heartwarming experience. You actually make me feel like a contented kitty cat on your sofa.

Take care and enjoy your kitties :)

Lucky cats, indeed, who find you and your friends in this lottery called life.

Lovely dedication to the many who often remain unsung in a world obsessed with the trite celebrities who amuse ordinary men and women.

I love all creatures and have had up to 17 cats at one time and loved every one of them although they nearly broke my heart.

Autustine, Martie, Writer,Diogenes and Rusty...yes, he is an angel...and carrying on in SE Kansas alone...with so much responsibility. We're trying, desperately, to find a way to be together again...it's a long road...he; there, with so many and me, here...with the same. Boy!! Well, it will all work out; I just know it will. Thank you all for visiting and commenting...always gives me 'wind beneath my wings.'

""The lives he holds in his caring heart

Awesome tribute to those who help animals and pets. In this present world where we men are the most atrocious creatures... Angels like this deserve a standing ode...

Great hub

Thank you so so much rahul0324. Your comment is so empathetic..."In this present world where we men are the most atrocious creatures...." What an insightful and humbling comment. It takes inner personal strength to admit something that is true. But, your words; your understanding and acceptance of this little tribute speaks volumns and, I am very pleased and happy to say; I believe the tide is turning...many are learning and becoming more sensitive and changing their ways. We women are equally in need of learning, too.. Thank you so much for visiting and leaving such an intuitive, kind comment. Kathy

Sunnie, thank you so much..you're so kind. I am so happy for you and Eiddwen..the collaboration and publishing. Yea! This poem is for Al and another kind man who works tirelessly, John on FB...Al is holding down the fort alone in SE Kansas while we are trying to get our little family back together here, in Ca. So, I just felt like I wanted to, at least, give him this little bit of encouragement and support from 2000 miles away. Thank you for always being the loving, positive person that you are. Kathy
