Help Name Smoky Mama's Kittens
What's in a Name?
Who Am I?
Smoky Mama’s kittens are now just over 7 weeks old. Four of the five are large; fat, sassy and rambunctious. The fifth, my sweet little tabby, is smaller; the typical ‘runt’ of the litter. He is very energetic and has a good appetite so, I do not worry…too much. We are keeping a very close watch over him to be sure that he continues to thrive and grow, albeit slowly compared to his siblings, and that his overall well being is always on an upswing.
Personalities are becoming so apparent. Each exhibits his or her own unique and endearing traits. The little tabby is loud; a continual talker. Always inquisitive and in search of treats, this little sweetheart has captured my heart! The fluffier “Seal Point” is a bit slower than his littermates; perhaps due to his size, being the biggest one of the bunch; he ambles about to the beat of his own drum. The shorter haired very pale “Seal Point” tabby-ish kitten is very active and curious. This little one makes me think of the play CATS. The two gray; one solid and the other an almost perfect duplicate of his mother; are both very robust. All day long, these five brothers and sisters play with each other and tease the other cats through the glass which separates them from the ‘general population.’ They've grown very close to the older siblings from Smoky’s former litter, through the door screen which divides their two rooms.
One of the funnier aspects of watching the antics of the kittens is when I enter the room with their morning and evening meals. It is as if alarms have gone off and the order is to rush to the mess hall for vittles with very limited time for eating. One would think these husky fur balls hadn’t eaten in a week! Oh! Spoiled is the word that comes to mind!
We have a mounting concern at the Feline Funny Farm, however….
“What in the world are we going to name these little beasts?”
Keeping in mind that Al and I avoid using the same name twice. .in honor of those who have passed… we are in desperate need of suggestions!!
Now, I know that my friends and readers are not aware and do not know all the different names we’ve used over the years so, I am asking this with a big CAVEAT! We are open to any and all suggestions however, we will probably end up ruling out most of these because, undoubtedly, so much of the offers we hope to see will, for sure, have been the sweet title already bestowed upon one of our former companions.
But, I’d love to have any and all suggestions for names! Surely, we’ll hit on enough to give these babies their own identities.
