How To Groom Your Pomeranian At Home

As the owner of a Pomeranian, You may find it a challenge to keep your pup as clean and fresh as possible.
Bi-monthly trips to the groomer will cost you a fortune, so why not groom the dog yourself?
Taking care of the bathing and grooming needs of your Pomeranian is not as difficult as you may think.
Of course if you have show Pom's Professional grooming is a must. This article is regarding your pet Pomeranian.
Even if you don't show your Pom, you should have it professionally groomed at least twice a year. The rest of the time you can do it yourself.
Grooming tools consist of
1.A good dog shampoo
2. a good natural bristle brush and a fine tooth comb for the head, ears and skirts
3.1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar.
4. a washcloth and towel for your dog.
For a complete bath, lukewarm water is best. use a dog shampoo being very careful not to get any in the eyes. after the shampoo, rinse with lukewarm water and then give a final rinse with a mixture of 1/2 cup of cider vinegar to 3 cups of water. This will restore the PH value and will eliminate any fleas. Another benefit will be a shiny coat. To finish, towel dry and gently brush Your clean dog.
In between full baths a partial bathwill do the trick
Starting with a warm damp washcloth, clean the under side of the dog making sure to to remove any fecal matter that may have stuck to the hair. Clean the belly and penis area well so there won't be a urine smell left on the dog. After completing the partial bath, brush against the lay of the coat being careful not to pull the hair. Follow up with the fine tooth comb on the head, skirts and neck.
If your dog is resistant at first be patient and do just a little at a time until the dog gets used to the process. Before long both you and your Pom will Find grooming to be a pleasant experience. You will be rewarded with a beautiful well kept Pomeranian.
