Save Money Making Your Own Dog Toy

Now that the economy is hurting times are getting tough and many people are pinched for money. Making dog toys is quite easy and fun. There are many different materials that you can use from fleece, rope, fire hose, bones, water bottles, tennis balls and the list can go on forever.

For those aggressive chewers you can take a thick rope from a hardware store and push it in to a tennis ball by cutting a 'X' in the top and bottom of it and pushingthe rope through it or you can take a cow hoove and place the rope through it for extra durability.

You can also use fleece and a water bottle and sew the fleece around the bottle so that the dog still has the crunchy soundfrom the bottle. Also i take the nutro biscuit(blueberry) and fill the bottle to keep their interest going.

Go to a hardware store and get heavy duty fire hose material and sew one end and stuff stuffing in and a couple squeakers and sew the other end closed. This will save you a lot of money because you can just keep going or even patch up you old stuffed animals with the fire hose material and get a longer life out of the toys.

No one likes to spend $10 on a toy and have your store say it's a durable dog toy for an aggressive chewer. Making your own dog toy saved me $340 in dog toys last year. For $500 worth of toys and can buy the material and only spend $110 in the year. The Average american spends $210 a year on toys destroyed in 2 days. Don't be lazy and just save some money. I shop at home depot and Micheals for all my stuff for dog toy building. You yourself can make your own durable dog toy for $3-$5 or buy it for $15.
