THE FELINE FUNNY FARM
Smoky and her babies and Puppies, too
Smoky Mama and her Kits Plus Pups
The sweet little kits are nearing 3 weeks old. Fat and healthy, these babies are a joy to behold. Daily, their antics entertain me as I watch them behaving like beginner acrobats, tumbling over each other and rolling onto their backs. These kittens walk around with their eyes wide open, taking in all the newness in their young lives. Everything is worthy of an extra sniff while trying to fix gazes upon the sight or sound of interest. I love these babies. Soon, they’ll be under foot and in the way as they continue to grow and explore this big life which is about to unfold. We’ll make sure no harm comes to them and that every experience is a wonderful, loving one.
Candy, the in town rescue of over a week ago, has recovered nicely from her entire dental extraction surgery which was necessary because of massive infection and illness caused by her bad teeth. We walked her through those hard days when everything she ate hurt like crazy, giving her mashed up “pate” by Friskies and either chicken or beef broth. Now, she is able to handle more solid food. Her dissolving stitches are all but gone so, that annoyance has ceased. This little girl was so frail and sick that we weren’t sure, the day we found her and rushed her off to the Veterinarian, whether she would survive or not. Thank God, all has worked out wonderfully. Candy is rooming with Basil, our 21 year old man who has become a permanent member of the feline family after 2 years as a “foster.”
Pups are in their new digs. A nice, big dog run next to the original run where our other 5 dogs live…everyone has indoor shelter, protection and lots of room to run. All’s well in the Animal House.
This is just a very short and simple update on the beautiful new family members of the Feline Funny Farm or, aka, The Crazy Cat and Canine Club. Take your pick.
More to come soon…I promise…
