Toys For Rabbits

There are all sorts of fun commercially available toys for rabbits. These are great for entertaining your pet and keeping its mind busy. Many people don't know that rabbits like to play with toys as much as any other animal, and so lots of bunnies go their whole lives without ever having something to play with - isn't that sad!

Here are several types of toys that your bunny is sure to love!

Bunny Castles

You can make your own bunny castles, or you can buy them on line. The on line ones are probably prettier, and also more functional as they have multiple stories that your bunnies can climb between! Your rabbit will enjoy renovating them to suit their needs, and when the floors give way, you can order extras to replace them! Many people really do swear by these bunny castles. If you do buy one, just make sure that you get one that doesn't have a whole lot of ink on it.

Wicker/Willow/Wood Toys

There is a great range of wicker/willow and other wood toys which are available for rabbits. These are great because they are entirely chew safe, and are also quite durable, providing your rabbit with plenty of ongoing fun! These toys come in balls, as baskets, in the form of chew rings, and other shapes too. Untreated wood is better for your pet.

Flip N Toss

Made from sisal, flip n toss toys are a big hit among rabbits. If you've never given your rabbit toys before, you might be surprised to learn that they just love to pick things up with their teeth and throw them around! You can make your own flip n toss style toys at home with things you find around the house.

Shake and Rattle

Much like babies and other small animals, bunnies quite often like toys that rattle. Bird toys, baby toys, and things you make from scratch are all good ways to stimulate your bunny's mind. Small rolls of cardboard taped up with pebbles inside are quite fun, for instance. They're easy to make, and your rabbit can have fun both rolling it around and subsequently destroying it. If your rabbit has to spend extended amounts of time in its cage (like when you're at work), you can hang bird toys on the inside of the cage to give it something to play with until you come home.

Ballin'

You might be surprised to learn that your bunny might quite like to play with a ball. Some bunnies love to nudge and push soft balls around with their noses and paws. Just make sure that it is made from a non toxic substance, or take it away if you find your rabbit chewing on it.

well lop eared bunnys are very cute but then again they all are!

You shouldn't keep rabbits in your house they should be in the garden eatin grass and other greens.

You shouldn't really leave it in a hutch for momst of the day in the wild a bunny can do whatever it wants your puttingiit in your house which can annoyin and distress them a lot and a cage (or hutch).

Like i said they shouldn't stay in there all day.

If their kicking or nudging something it means theywant it out of the way or their tidying up like they would do in the wild when buildin a nest.

Don't keep rabbits in houses hutches (to long) and i dissagree with leads i think they should do whatever they want.

We have a run that we can open and close that we built ourseleves because the ones at the stores ar stupidly small for a bunny of any size and during the day we let them out into the larger run we make sure their ok and we moniter them by keeping an eye on the n we feed them but they do the rest.so don't keep bunnies in your houses they can get disstressed AND NOT RABBITS ARE NOT LIKE BIRDS CATS OR DOGS THEY HAVE TO BE OUTSIDE RUNNING AROUND MOST OF THE DAY !

Bunnies are low maintenance in the way of cleaning cages but high maintenance in the fact that they need LOTS of love and attention. If you are thinking of getting a rabbit please check at an animal shelter before going to a pet store, as pet store pets often have health problems and other things. Lot's of people think of shelter pets as mean and old animals, but this is NOT true. They usually have litters of bunnies there from people who didn't want them.

If you are planning on keeping your bunny outside just make sure his hutch is VERY safe.

If you need any more info here is a website

even though it is UK based it is the BEST bunny forum out there :-)

That's like what I was saying about the artificial tunnels. Make long, short structure with holes all around it. My rabbits just love that!

re. wes 6 years ago

tennis balls are good because your rabbit can pick them up by the fluffly green stuff just make sure your rabbit doesn't eat the green fluff

Texas Boer Goats 5 years ago

I raise texas boer goats in addition to breeding rabbits. My bunnies love to mess around with pine cones, so I don't bother with purchasing toys.

Can someone please remove that disgusting comment of having sex with their rabbit who they consequently killed. My daughter has been looking at this site and it has really upset her. Please keep your disgusting comments and habits to your sick little self. I hope when you die which YOU DESERVE TO BE SOON that you come back as a rabbit and meet someone who has the same nasty demonish mind as yourself.

PLEASE ALSO REMOVE THIS ONCE THAT SICKO GETS THE MESSAGE!
