What are the downfalls to owning a horse?

This of course, if you have the means and the room to have one.

Thanks for your answer. There's a lot of information to think about on this page. I do appreciate it. This is something I've been thinking about for a long time now. Really had no idea all that is involved.

Really enjoyed your reply, sounds like it would be like owning a really heavy baby with big teeth, and with poo you need a shovel to clean up. lol This is definitely something I have to think about. I do love horses.

Thanks for your reply. That was so nice. I live in FL now and I know what you mean. I rode them up north where there was better land. But like you said, the bugs...very familiar with that here. It's awful.

Thanks for your reply. I had no idea they were accident prone. That's an eye opener. I know they scare easily. Yikes. Things are looking pretty dim in the world of me getting a horse. :(
