Do pets go to heaven when they die? Do dogs, cats, horses, politicians, or any animal have souls?

Could you support your answer in a hub or even here?

If one believes in reincarnation, they could easily say that they are merely spiritual vessels of a lower rank, with politicians being one of the lowest forms; ha!  ...And some people actually wonder why the dolphins often laugh at us poor humanoids!

Well said, but I dare you to name a life form that is lower than a politician.

Probably, but I have my doubts about politicians.  Do they even deserve to be included in the same group as pets, nah not that loveable.

i don't know why do chinese believe that dogs and cats have nine lives. So, how can they go to heaven if they keep reincarnate? I think animals who had saved someone or another animal lives should or ought go to heaven. I hope and pray that the honey bear mom and cub that was caught and tortured, died, had gone to heaven. Saw an article in HP a couple of months ago. pitiful and heart breaking.

If really hope, that at least some, animals get to go to heaven.

Actually, only cats have nine lives. They have a little punchcard with nine dots, so that each time they die and go up to the Gates of Heaven, God takes out his hole puncher and punches it once, then the cat is reincarnated.
JK! This is all a myth.

If you hadn't put politician on the list, I would have answered that the soul is the life essense of the animal and returns to its origin, but I'm not sure politicians have souls. I don't know what gives them life. I guess there are good souls and bad souls and they return to their origins. So I guess that's my answer as to where politicians go when they die.

The politician part was a last minute addition. I just wanted to see if people were paying attention. Thank you for your great answer.

I disagree. Animals do not have souls, if they did God would put them on an equal level as human, and they would be equally intelligent as humans.

Just curious, Ken. Where do you get your belief that animals do not have souls? They are living breathing spirits just the same as humans. What would be the source of their life essence if they have no souls?

If you are a Christian, theologians and famous Christians like CS Lewis, Martin Luther and Billy Graham would disagree.  If you read my hub, you'll see why. smile

This is a question, like any dealing with the position of eternal life, must be a person's own personal belief and faith. The proof of this is difficult or impossible to actually bring about to people through any means other than Biblical faith.  Politicians are people and for them it comes down to their own personal faith through christian or other religious beliefs as to whether they will stand before God. I however am a christian and personally do believe that not only do pets but all animals do have a soul and do go to heaven upon the ending of their lives upon this earth. Animals are innocent of sin, giving their life blood from the first few moments of creation for the atonement of the the evil that the chosen of God placed upon  this earth.  Now this fact is true not only in christian religion but in all religions as animals are sacrificed to appease the god or gods for the evils of men. If any beings upon this planet have souls it is animals for they have done nothing to bring destruction to their fellows. They do not pollute nor wage war upon their fellow creatures never have they taken one or the other and placed them in chains to build societies to rule over another. Yes, heaven is filled with them and if justice is true those of us who go there will serve them as they served us.

Haha, insulting politicians. No, animals do not have mortal souls. Only humans have mortal souls. Animals have a different kind of soul, and do not go to heaven. So yes, the cartoon is wrong. If you really want a long and detailed explanation of this, i can give it, but i don't think it is necessary if you understand it.
So no, Rover and Max and Mr. Woofikins do not have souls.

    1. agilitymach profile image94
agilitymachposted 10 years agoin reply to this

No souls needed for those of the Christian faith.  God will return all of His creation back to Himself in the New Heaven.  The whole Bible is a story of creation's (not just man's) redemption.  I have a hub that covers this.  No room here for more!

No actually it states in the Bible that all people have souls.

    3. agilitymach profile image94
agilitymachposted 10 years agoin reply to this

Yes, people have souls, but animals do not need souls for heaven. They are a part of creation and are immediately drawn into the New Heaven because they are innocent from the Fall.  We humans, however, are not innocent. smile

But it is not a body that goes to heaven, but a soul. Soulless entities do not go to heaven.

Then how do the lion and the lamb get there? smile  God is capable of doing anything, including bringing His creation back to him.  It's the creatures capable of knowing they have fallen that need souls.  The rest do not.  Read my hub.  No room to expla

No animals = no heaven, IMO. For me, it would not be heaven if there were no animals. In fact, I do believe that's actually the other place...
