is Hills Prescription Diet j/d good or just a way for the vet to make money What do u think
I don't think so. My daughter's cat, who has an over-active thyroid, was losing weight to the point where it was really bad. The vet gave her a prescription diet aimed at building her up. She has gained a pound fairly quickly. She's returning to "regular" food (and thyroid medication) now that she's gotten through her crisis. When she was sick she wouldn't even eat regular cat food (only the special one made to be particularly appealing, apparently). She certainly wasn't gaining weight on regular cat food either. For sick and/or elderly pets with medical problems it's great.
Just a way to make money. Those foods are full of corn and other terrible fillers that do nothing for your pets health and can actually cause problems. If you look at the ingredients you can tell just by reading the name that you don't want to put that in your cat or dog's body.

Our cats are 15 years old. We feed them Friskies Urinary preventative cat food. This has been working for several years. Are there any other brands that are available?

How to help a 7 year old dog lose weight?Alright, so I have an overweight Brittany Spaniel. She's a hunting dog and runs around nonstop in our sizable back yard. Even though she runs around all day, she is still very fat. We only feed her breakfast and dinner (lamb meal- medium size dog) and not...
