Do you like goldfish? I don't, because my goldfish just swam around doing nothing.

    Discuss!

I am a pisces and I hate fish.  They are smug.  I got some for my 21st birthday and I wanted to punch them.  They are mean, too.  The prettier ones ate each other.  I say, if you can't pet it, it is not a pet.

I like goldfish who swim around, even if they don't do anything else.  I don't like goldfish who go belly up.

I was cleaning the tank, so I put the fish in a big bowl.  They leapt out of the bowl and my poodle ate them.

I don't own any goldfish. I do remember my Mom's goldfish from when I was much younger. She had a large fish tank with fancy fantail goldfish. It was kind of fun to watch them when they were fed.

Ooooo, the little bubble-eyed Chinese ones.  Yeah.  And sometimes their eye bubbles pop, but grow back....

Yes, had them and will most likely get them for my son.  Easy to take care of...that's the positive side of having one (just don't forget to feed it and clean the bowl smile

Isn't there a fable about the Goldfish that laid the golden eggs? smile

No, but there is a Chinese folk tale with an old man whose head opened up and there was a pond in there or something, with goldfish swimming around.  Kinda cool, really...but no gold that I can remember.

I do not eat seafood and hence I like fishes only in aquarium.

FYI : Gold fishes are said to have very short lived memory (5 sec) and that is why you will not find them sitting idle even if you put them in a small bowl. After every 5sec they seem to forget everything as the same place looks new to them as a result they keep swimming under the assumption that they are in a vast water body exploring new places! smile

Gold fish is fine to see. In astrology if you have 9 gold fish it will be wealth and health at office or home.
