Chihuahua is the world smallest breed of dog. As the history tell that Chihuahuas are originated from Mexico. So, Chihuahua name is derived from the state of Mexico name "Chihuahua". It is one of the most popular dog breeds around the world. They are most commonly known by their lover as "CHI". You may find Chihuahua in various varieties such as size, color, length and shapes.
Chihuahua breeders commonly use phrases like Teacup, Pocket Size, Small Toy, Miniature or Regular to explain puppies. These terms aren't recognized from the breed standards and therefore are regarded as advertising publicity stunt to inflate the worth of puppies. Chihuahuas are commonly identified by their Apple and Deer heads, earlier having short noses and rounded heads similar to that of an apple; the latter getting lengthier noses and more elongated heads similar to that of deer.
Chihuahua's eyes are expressive, spherical and large, but must not be prominent. They usually have darkish eyes. For their body, the ears of those dogs are large and triangular, but finish up at one end rounded and pointed.

The Long coat features a gentle, longer coat that will be fairly curly or flat. These breeds of Chihuahua have an under-coat. Coat types also come in variety of colors such as fawn, brown, black, and white. The coat might be strong in color, marked with splashes of colour, or tri color. They are a typical shredder.
Chihuahua comes in variety of color, marks and pattern. The most well-liked Chihuahua colour is black, white, chocolate, tan, cream, fawn, gold, red, blue and many more. These are some basic color of Chihuahuas but by adding these colors, marks, pattern and splashed to Chihuahua you can find your lovable color with your lovable pets.
However, Chihuahua is not good breed for everybody because they need extra care with full attention. Chihuahua dogs are always exceptions, typically possessive and protective. They're always tending to become one person dog. They are confident, brave, fearless, and hard. There size always create problem for them they are tiny in size so that accident chances for them increased. Chihuahua can get serious injuries or even killed if any minor or major accident happens with them. So take care of your Chihuahua so that they can be secure and long living.
Chihuahua requires minimal grooming. Smooth coat variety requires only occasional brushing. But Long coat variety should be brushed several times in a week with a soft hair brush. Both types of Chihuahua only need bathing once a week with mild shampoo. Always take care during bath that shampoo water can’t get entered into their eyes, otherwise there are chance of eye infection to them. Dental cleanliness is a must needed to prevent tooth loss. The health issues that affect this breed are slipped stifles, open font or soft spot, eye issues, and heart disease. The Chihuahua does not tolerate cool climates and must be protected when taken outside.
Chihuahua training is difficult, but with patience, love, and consistency you can do it well. They respond maximum to positive strengthening. You can also train your Chihuahuas at your house by the crate method or even by the paper coaching method. Early, extensive, and intensive socialization needed for this breed otherwise your dog can’t get mix up in social event and always create problem for you. Traditional techniques of dog training aren't well matched with small dog like Chihuahua so they need special training. In my view home training is best training for tiny Chihuahuas.
Chihuahua is great residence or apartment inhabitant. The majority of their exercise can be completed indoors with toys and playing sessions. However, they always like to be with their owners so, daily walk is very beneficial for them. Always use leather strap rather chain for your small Chihuahua because leather strap is best for their soft neck and bones structure. Chain may harm them and also damage their neck.
Chihuahua Health Issues
There is no big health issue related to Chihuahua if you caring and loving your Chihuahua puppy. but then also there few health issue which are affecting Chihuahua now a days are Hypoglycemia, patellar luxation, molera, Teeth Issues and hydrocephalus.
Patellar Luxation – It is a most common defect within the Chihuahua breed. In case your Chihuahua has any looseness in the patella joint, or if the patella itself luxates, then you need to tell your doctor about this and doctor will tell you best and useful methods to recover your Chihuahua patella.
Teeth Problems - Because the Chihuahua is small, he also has a very small mouth. This small mouth of Chihuahua may cause many problems such as overcrowding. Overcrowding of teeth can cause by food, which is trapped in between the tooth, resulting in plaque and tarter buildup, in addition to premature tooth-loss. Dogs which have dirty teeth may lead to many other problems such as heart, liver and kidney harm due to bacteria getting entered into their bloodstream.
