What You Need to Know Before Getting a Siberian Husky

Updated on April 4, 2014

Before you get a Siberian Husky

This article will show you some information about them. We owned one and nobody tells us what we should expect or what we need to know before getting a Siberian Husky.

At first, there was a great debate between our family. We can't decide which one we should really get. My father likes to have a German Shepherd. For him, that was the most intelligent and good-looking dog on earth, which I guess is true because they are popularly used as K-9.

I told them, Siberian Husky is the most beautiful dog on earth. I tried to convince them, but to no avail until one day, they saw a Siberian Husky walking with his master near our house. They were stunned and amazed! They can't believe what they have seen. It looks like a wolf but it's very loving to his master. After that moment, without telling or asking a word to them, we've all decided to get a Siberian Husky.

Sunshine, My sister and Dasha

Sunshine is a one year old Shih Tzu and Dasha is a 2 month old Siberian Husky.

When we go to the breeder near our place, we saw a lot of different colors of Siberian Husky, there's gray and white, brown and white, but we chose copper red and white because it looks really nice.

Dasha was the name given by the breeder. We did not change it because that was her name registered on her papers.

She's just 2 and a half months old

Definitely Siberian Husky belongs to a large dog breed. She gets bigger and bigger every day. In this picture she's just a two and a half months old. She still feels like a baby and she always wants to be carried.

She's not that big because my sister only stands 5'1", but then Dasha is a lot bigger compared to other dogs.

At 3 months old She howls!

During our first months with her, we always feel as if we are in a haunted house!

She howls when she doesn't want to go inside the house.

She howls when she's thirsty and hungry.

She howls when she wants to run or walk outside.

She howls with her head, looking at the moon or sun!

Looks like a wolf but very loving and gentle

Even for the first time we met, she can be hugged easily, she won't bite you instead she will caress you.

She let anyone touch her. She won't bark at people coming and going inside our house. Some of our visitors are very hesitant to come closer to her. I can't blame them, of course, how can you touch a wolf?!

She won't go down without you. She will wait for you. She will walk if you walk, She will run if you run. It's a compulsory exercise for us. Actually, every time I jog outside with her, people will always say this phrase "OH My, very beautiful dog." while some kids are afraid and will shout, "there's a wolf!"

Great with other small dogs

She loves to eat, then go out, then sleep after eating or after running.

She's very playful and active. She's great with other dogs.

I recommend Siberian Husky because I consider them the most attractive and beautiful dog on earth. Yes, they look like a wolf, but they can be touched, hugged, kissed and they won't bite. They won't bark. They love everyone, even babies. They will caress you in any way.

They howl, but if it's not a big deal to you,Siberian Husky is definitely a great choice.
