I think addiction may be of different type (i) natural addiction or addiction for having or practicing anything for a long period of time or (ii) addiction for lesser time period. The question I suppose is related with the temporary addition. It depends upon health, mind and atmosphere. If you are feeling seek you will be addicted to take up lemon like juice, if you are in joyful mood along with other friends, you may be chosen sports activity or if you are in festival mood, you may be addicted to food.

There are many books on this subject and I feel that words do have power or at least can augment power and make it more real or more potent.

David Eddings books on the Belgariad and the rest of the series, described "The Will and The Word". The will was inside and the spoken word gave it power outside.

I don't feel this is too far from reality.

Advertisers and politicians use keywords a lot and the way an ad or a political speech is worded, can deflect negatives to produce stronger positives.

In witchcraft or Wicca, the spells are often spoken as without this, the spells remain inert. It requires the spell to be spoken, often a number of times, in order for it to work.

We also project that elusive sixth sense when we speak otherwise we would not have 'reading between the lines' where someone says one thing, meaning another. Sensitive people can pick up on this.

The way we talk to prospective boy or girlfriends can mean more that what we actually say, but yes, I feel words DO have energy.

I refer you to http://hubpages.com/hub/Pollution-and-global-warmi wherein I describe how greenhouse gases are rising and in my opinion, at a faster rate than is natural due to the excess waste gases we are pumping into the atmosphere.

These gases are not affecting the oxygen, but the production of it and the ability the Earth has to absorb carbon dioxide and other GHG's.

It was said in one reply that the Earth is a living organism and can regulate itself, but as with any living thing, too much of anything can have an adverse affect. It is the failure of the wealthy industrialists and our demand for comfortable living that is causing the accelerated rise in GHG's this time, not a natural cyclic phenomena.
