Does anyone else think that the old movie posters are just far better than the modern ones?

M K Paul, YadiraE, barry1001, thanks for commenting on my gallery of Lean posters. It is most appreciated.

Professional artists worked on the old movie posters, now they're just a montage of photos, usually headshots.

My father was a huge David Lean fan....as Bridge on the River Kwai and Lawerence of Arabia were two of his favorite movies of all-time. I have always loved Ryan's Daughter as well....the place they filmed became a huge tourist attraction when the movie was released. It looks like James Cameron is following in his path when it comes to spreading out his movies....as Lean had 14 movies in 40 plus years....and Cameron has 8 movies in 30 plus movies.

I enjoyed seeing all of these movie posters...I imagine Lean has some say in their creation....voted up and awesome.

Thanks for the comments and vote on my Lean poster hub Bruce, it is appreciated.

Yes Leans movie output was rather lean compared to his contemporaries. He stopped making movies for 14 years after Ryan's Daughter received scathing reviews, it really hurt him.
