Excellent group of movie posters from some classic science fiction movies. I have noticed since you and I have become HubPage friends that I have started to watch more and more science fiction movies....just looking at this list of posters I have seen 5 of them pretty recently. And another viewing of Forbidden Planet is coming soon. Of the posters I would rate War of the Worlds the best and a great way to start off a hub...with When Worlds Collide and Revenge of the Creature being medalists as well....do you see the Olympic references?....lol. Voted up and interesting.

Although it is not a 1950s movie.....I am about to watch Latitude Zero with Joseph Cotten.

Thanks Bruce, your comments always appreciated amigo.

I see the first picture on all my hubs like the cover of a book so I try to choose one that's eyecatching and well known.

I'm glad you're watching more sci-fi, the fifties was the golden decade for sci-fi cinema and being a life-long fan this is easily my favourite of the poster hubs I've done so far. So many classic films I've grown up with here.

My favourite movies from this period include Forbidden Planet, War of the Worlds, Day the Earth Stood Still, The Thing, 20,000 Leagues, This Island Earth, Body Snatchers and Shrinking Man.

Favourite poster? Probably The Day the Earth Stood Still, love that tagline - "From out of Space - A Warning and an Ultimatum." :)

Latitude Zero was good fun, a colorful Japanese sci-fi movie. One of my upcoming hubs is centred on Japans most famous monster, the big G.
