Whether you’re looking for inspiration, or you want to learn “how to”, these five crafty websites are sure help you out if you are a crafter.
One word of caution, it is very easy to get caught up in these websites and lose track of hours or even days. Remember to set a timer before surfing, or arrange to have family or friends extract you from the computer before too many days go by.
Craftster.org is one of the largest online communities of crafters and DIY enthusiasts. Here you’ll find inspiration, instruction, whimsy, and things you just didn’t think were possible.
Ravelry.com is an online pattern sharing community specializing in knit and crochet. Here you can search for free or for-purchase patterns, save and rate patterns, or interact in the forum boards.
Craftgawker.com is a photo gallery of various arts and crafts. This is a great site to go to get inspiration for projects.
Spritestitch.com started out as a video game inspired weblog, but quickly grew into its own with the forum board. These forum boards mostly focus on embroidery and cross stitch patterns.
Etsy.com is an online marketplace for handmade goods, supplies, or vintage items. This is a good site for inspiration. It’s a good place to find patterns of all sorts, if you don’t mind paying a little bit.
If you’re an avid crafter, I hope this list provided you with at least one site (or more) that you hadn’t heard of that will inspire and fuel your creativity.
