I'm surprised at how many of these I haven't seen. Though I've seen most of Disney's stuff (at least till I got to the point of realizing Disney just mines kids like gold) I sometimes wonder if I'm the only one who's never seen Bambi. Then again, I've never seen ET in its entirety. I do remember seeing Fantasia in a movie theater sometime around 1970 when Disney realized there was a huge audience of hippies looking for another psychedelic experience. Another great hub of memories.

UnnamedHarald, Mhatter99, billdo1603, thank you for commenting on my poster hub of animation, it is appreciated.

I've seen many of the Walt Disney's in theaters in re-issues during the 70's. I remember being blown away by a digital stereo presentation of Fantasia at a West End theater in the early 80's. An amazing film.

Thank you all for posting.

Thanks Carol, appreciate the kind words. I grew up with these classic movies and they deserve their own poster hub. We're all still young at heart. :)

Steve....I really enjoyed seeing all these posters and reading up on the old animated movies....most of which, believe it or not, I can still remember seeing as a kid!! "Peter Pan" and "Bambi" were and still are my favorites. I think I bugged my parents to buy me everything related to those movies....story books, coloring books, pictures and stuffed animals.......Not all that different than the kids today are with all the super heroes!! My 6 yr. old grandson, would never believe that he is not SPIDER MAN, himself!! LOL.............Very nice hub, Steve...Thanks UP+++

Thank you for commenting Paula, much appreciated. Bambi is a beautifully animated movie and Peter Pan is one of my favourites too. Thanks to the popularity of CG animated movies hand drawn animation is becoming a lost art.

Good to see this hub getting a nice response....you can not go wrong when you are talking about Disney movies. I have seen all of these movies except for 5 of them......2 of them I had never heard of before.

Just looking at the posters you can tell how great the Disney animators were back then.....I seem to have been buying some of these movies every 6 or 7 years as the home entertainment technology keeps getting better and better.

The Blu-Ray Pinocchio is "knock your socks off great"....it is like watching a brand new movie....not bad for a movie that is 72 years old.

Awesome hub....voted up and across the board.

Thanks again Bruce, appreciate the comment as always.

You can't go wrong with classic Disney and the Blu-ray editions have been superb, has Pinocchio ever looked so good? Maybe in 1940.

Cinderella is coming up soon on Blu-ray here in the UK.

My dads favourite - The Jungle Book - he loved the songs and the character voices.

Thanks for posting.

Growing up Snow White was my favorite but I have to admit I loved Lady and The Tramp...and...I could go on as animation is my favorite genre. This is a hub with beautiful posters, as always, and your impeccable facts. Loved this as I do all your poster hubs!

Voted up, useful, awesome, and interesting.

Thanks Mary, your comments are always welcome.

This hub was originally going to be just Walt Disney animation but it didn't seem fair to leave out some of the others, especially Dave Fleischer's Gullivers Travels, he and his brother Max pioneered the art of Rotoscope animation.

And Animal Farm was the first British animated feature film.

Thanks for posting.

Yes that's right Fantasia was released in 1940 and is 72 years old. Movie posters might be newer from various re-releases over the years.

I admit that there are three that I have not seen. But only because I haven't been able to track then down. Or in this case haven't tried to. Now thanks to you I have a goal and several animated movies to add to my list of "Yes I have seen them!"
