Purple Spires (Flowers) In My Garden

A Little Explanation

All of the following photos are taken by me, of my gardens. They are a plant called "Lambs Ear", and they bloom during the summer. They just opened up, so I thought I should go out and take a couple shots.

Awesome pictures! The plant is actually Liatris Spicata, commonly called Blazing Star. Lamb's Ear has a different leaf, similar to what the name implies. I have a Blazing Star about 20 years old, 3 feet tall with about 40 spires blooming now. The blooms will last for the next month.

Your pictures are beautiful.

What a beautiful composition! The centred purple spires inspire us to leap to the heights of divinity while the green and saffronish background gives us the stability in our roots. This is a highly metaphorical visual varrying great spiritual significance.

How pretty these are. They bloom a little like the pineapple lilly. Thanks for sharing!
