Rochester MN Silver Lake Stone Bridge

About Me

My name is Casey Meredith. I am currently living in Rochester, MN. I am in the military and I love photography. I have 3 little brothers, and a dog named Max. I am currently working on my Bachelors in Business Administration. Well, here are some things about my photography and some of the photos that I have taken.

The photos to the right of the text are some of my favorite pictures that I took on Silver Lake in Rochester, MN. The first is one of the many stone bridges that lets you walk across the lake. The stone bridges are everywhere over Silver Lake. Sometimes you may encounter some bikers, runners, rollerblading couples, and walkers along the trail too. There are a couple of parks and shelters that you can sit in and have a picnic or just be able to relax after a good run or walk...or even a long day at work.

The second picture is of a tree that was just sprouting its leafs in early spring off the deck of my apartment. You can kind of see the school in the background.

The third is one of the very many geese on Silver Lake in Rochester, MN. The population of geese in this area is around 30,000 geese and that is year round. This one a friend and I got pretty close to and it started to hiss at us. We just laughed and kept walking along the trail (after I got a few shots first). At one point in mid winter we were driving over a bridge along the lake and saw that a part of it was black so we drove around the block to get a closer look and found hundreds of geese had melted away the ice to get to the water. They were all huddled together to keep warm.

The last picture is of a flowering tree that I saw while walking along that same trail that I saw the goose on. I looked very beautiful so I zoomed in real close to it.

My brother lives in Rochester, MN and one thing I have to say about Minnesota is that there are many parks in that state. I remember him taking us to a park (and there were geese) so it could very well have been this park. Nice photos.
