A Good Rainy Day Project

Looking for something fun to do with your kids on a rainy day? Need a quick and easy craft for your Sunday School Class? These easy Coffee Filter Butterflies may be just what you are looking for.

Supplies: watercolors, paintbrushes, spray bottle full of water, clothes pins

How to Make: Lightly spray a coffee filter with the spray bottle then allow your child to paint it however they see fit with the watercolors. The paint will spread and make unique designs because of the filter being wet. This is part of the fun, seeing what designs emerge! Then allow the filter to dry completely. Once it is dry, simply gather in the middle and hold with a clothes pin. My daughter felt the need to paint her clothes pin black and to add antenna, but this is not necessary. We then used the clothes pins to place the butterflies through our house. Some of the places we placed them were on blind cords, the ceiling fan pull string, and a cabinet door. Enjoy!
