Using Photography for Demotivational Posters
Motivation is the act of providing someone with an inspiration with an image, words or both.
There is a growing industry to produce these types of photos that are used in offices, schools and other places where the management wants to inspire those who visit work or study or anyone who conducts any business in the place.
They also make very attractive decorations and often are used just for that purpose.
Well, there is also a growing industry that aims to use the word motivational along with clever text and adapting it by using as in a "play" in words. Kind of tongue in cheek as it may.
These types of images are usually used in the creation of posters, greeting cards and other literature and they usually contain some clever sayings or words to portray the message. This message is called de-motivational.
With photography you can create quite a number of samples that although show an image meant to inspired or motive, the subject matter or the main focus of the photographs demotivates you because it takes you away from the supposed motivational message into another message, often without saying a word.
The idea is to use an image that makes the viewer focus on a part of the scene and forgets for the moment the purpose main image.
Your job is to seek out several examples and get an idea of what it take to make a demotivational image and proceed from there.
Needless to say , this project can be a lot of fun and your creativity is the only limiting factor You should however, be conscious about the message that you intend on delivering since humor is not the same for everyone and often cultural differences can lead people to interpret something in completely different ways.
With that said, humor is usually the underlying concept behind the creation of these posters. Any other emotion or feeling will probably not work as well.
Your intention is to create a humorous situation with the clever use of photographs and accompanying message. To insert the messages simply use a digital editing software program to ad text to the photos.
Your subjects can include people, animals, and things. Look for situations that appear funny at first glance, then work on a catchy motif Some themes are even as simple as writing something in order to create a message.
Not all demotivational photos have to be approached from a comical theme. Sometimes you can be serious and use them to relay a clear message about what is important. This is not as easy as the usual application but when done properly brings a poignant message or idea home.
Some situations can be posed such as when working with people animals,if you pay close attention, can often do things that are funny in and by themselves. Just be attentive and patient.

It's hot, but also cool. I have often wondered how these two opportunistic terms work so well together when describing something that's so appealing that is really cool simply because it's so hot.
The emphasis is not so much in the subject or the scene that's in front of the camera
