Superbly great actor, and the poster of The Graduate is probably one of the most iconic out of the bunch. Great hub Steve, voted up and awesome!

rabbit75, Mhatter99, thanks for commenting much appreciated.

One of my faves too, great actor. Yep they used the iconic poster for The Graduate's 30th anniversary and they got the famous quote right too.

Come to think about it Steve, you should do a hub on the top most iconic movie posters of all time...I know the Graduate, The God Father, Jaws, perhaps Star Wars would be in there. Just a thought and keep up the awesomeness!

That is a good idea for a future hub rabbit75, a hub on the most famous movie posters. If you've noticed most of the time I've been looking for alternate less well known posters in this hub series, foreign posters especially tend to look more striking than the original English versions. But an iconic poster hub would be cool. Jaws and Star Wars would definitely be up there, Alien too.

This is special, Steve....I was surprised at how many of Dustin's movies I'd not thought about in so long. His is a long list of excellence. I enjoyed this reminder of his achievements on the big screen!

Thanks Paula, appreciate the comment. Hoffman has appeared in so many highly rated films and won the Oscar twice. The Graduate was a massive success in 1967 and instantly turned him into a star.

I was surprised how many films Hoffman was in-- and how many I'd seen, although not all of his latest ones. One of those right up there for me is Rainman. I kind of found The Graduate to be kind of depressing.

Dave, why was The Graduate depressing? I thought it was kind of funny and silly. Rain Man was a little depressing and sad too. It could have been worse Spielberg was going to direct at one point and I remember in an interview he said he would have "wrung more tears out of the audience". Yikes! :)

Another fine addition to your movie poster series. Not a huge Hoffman fan but I have seen almost all of the movies you have listed...thinking I have only not seen two of them...Lenny and Sleepers.

Favorites would include All The President's Men and Runaway Jury. I kinda of liked Ishtar too....but I see that it got a 3.9 IMDB rating....so I realize that liking that box office bomb leaves me pretty much standing alone....lol.

Voted up and fun to read.

Thanks again Bruce. Hoffman has made so many highly rated movies, no.1 is The Graduate with 8.1 and nipping at its heels are 4 films with a score of 8.0 - Midnight Cowboy, Papillon, All the President's Men and Rain Man.

Lowest rated is Ishtar with 3.9, I watched it once on video in the 80's haven't watched it since and I own Battlefield Earth on DVD. [cue Bruce wincing]
