Easy to Make Christmas Card Cricut and Stamping

I wanted to create a Christmas card using a fun Cricut cartridge called Winter Woodland. This cartridge has some really great cutouts for Christmas items. And it also has cutouts and directions for an entire Christmas village.

I decided to use the one of the cute little Snowmen on the Winter Woodland cartridge along with just two of the snowflake designs. These cutouts can be used for homemade Christmas cards, Christmas gift tags, and you could also use them for Christmas tree decorations.

That is what I love about the Cricut personal cutting machine; the multitude of uses for paper crafting.

The sentiment "Season's Greetings" was easy to create using my Stamping products from Stampin'Up! including red, green, and purple stamp pads, sponges, and the Curly Cute stamping set.

Step by Step

Cut a coordinating background piece of cardstock to be 5 1/4" x 4" for the 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card.

Adhere the background cardstock to the base card. I chose a red card with a printed cardstock background.

Using the Curly Cute set: I stamped "Season's Greetings" onto a white piece of heavy weight cardstock. Then I cut around the edge in a rectangular shape.

Using my sponges and the outline left behind from one of the snowflakes I cut out (see below); I lightly sponged the snowflake design around the Season's Greetings stamp image.

I traced around the stamped image onto a piece of purple cardstock. I cut out another rectangular shape a bit larger than the white cardstock; for a background piece behind the white stamped sentiment.

Cricut Cartridge Cutouts

Cut one <Snowman>, pg 46, size 2 1/2" using the base keyboard key with a heavy weight white cardstock. This will be the top snowman layer.

Cut one <Snowman>, pg 46, size 2 1/2" using the Shadow/Blackout and base keyboard with a heavy weight white cardstock. This will be the bottom larger snowman cutout.

Cut one <Snowman>, pg 46, size 2 1/2" using the Layers and base keyboard key with a Purple cardstock. This will cutout the small band on the snowman's hat and the top layer of his scarf.

Cut one <Snwman-s>, pg 46, size 2 1/2" using the Shift and base keyboard key with a Bright green cardstock. This will cutout the hat and lower layer of his scarf.

Cut one <Snwman-s>, pg 46, size 2 1/2" using the Shift, Layers, and base keyboard key with the same Bright green cardstock. This will cutout the 2 buttons.

Assemble the snowman as shown. The scarf has a "ratty" look to make it appear as if it is knitted and worn.

Adhere the snowman to the card.

Cut three <Snowflk1>, pg 32, size 1" using:

  • the base keyboard key for the larger bottom layer. Cut one in green, one in purple, and one in white cardstock.

Cut three <Snwfl1-s>, pg 32, size 1" using:

  • the shift and base keyboard key for the round middle layer. Cut one in green, and two in purple.

Cut three <Snowflk1>, pg 32, size 1" using:

  • the Layers and base keyboard key for the top layer. Cut one in green and two in white.

Assemble the snowflakes as shown.

Cut two <Snowflk4>, pg 35, size 1" using:

  • the base keyboard key for the bottom layer. Cut one in green and one in purple.

Cut two <Snowflk4>, pg 35, size 1" using:

  • the Layers and base keyboard key. This will cut the middle layer. Cut one in purple and one in white.

Cut two <Snwfl4-s>, pg 35, size 1" using:

  • the Shift and base keyboard key. This will cut the top layer. Cut one in White and one in Green.

Assemble the snowflakes as shown.

Adhere the snowflakes around the Snowman and you are done!

I love this card that you made with your Cricut! I have the Cricut Create but I want so badly to get the Cricut Expression! That one seems like the best one. Isn't it amazing what these machines can do?

Love the card and the instructions too. The Winter Woodland cartridge looks like it has some good stuff on it. Thanks for sharing.. voted up and useful!

Thanks for your kind comment; I'm glad you liked it. Yes I've been watching ads on TV about the new Cricut and would love to get it. I am always amazed by my Cricut's abilities.
