FABRIC BLOCKS

Fabric Blocks - Art and Crafts

Fabric blocks are the rage. I wonder how many actually create beautiful works of art using fabric blocks. I have never, until recently, been that interested in or knew the many uses for fabric blocks. When I thought of fabric blocks, quilting with quilt blocks is what entered my mind. Fabric blocks are called so many different names: quilt blocks, quilt squares, cotton blocks, cotton squares, to name a few. I have been a crafter for years and you can tell by my vintage mermaid hubs what my main art form has been.

For quite a few years, I have been collecting vintage mermaids. Many of my vintage mermaids are the antique wall plaques and some figurines composed of chalkware or ceramic. However, I have also collected many vintage pictures of mermaids through the form of vintage post cards, vintage advertisements and I even have pictures of mermaids that date back to the 15th century. Not long ago, as I was meandering through these lovely treasures, I kept thinking how beautiful they are. You just don't see the quality and colors used today that was used in those long ago ages in modern mermaid art. I started to wonder how I could share them, without giving them away of course. So, my dear friend Google, gave me some ideas. The idea that interested me the most was the many beautiful items that I found designed with fabric blocks. So, I did my homework and decided to offer fabric blocks with my images imprinted on them. Thus, my business was borne. Please note that I have permission to use all of these images. Needless to say, I have been having the time of my life. Fabric blocks and I are joined at the hip. I eat, sleep, and breath them. My husband is threatening to divorce me - not really, but I would pick fabric blocks over him;) Fabric blocks have almost - oh heck, let me be honest, I am addicted to my business and the most addictive thing of all is creating my own. O my, I love it so. I am creating my own designer fabric blocks, which I do retain all legal rights to even when sold. None of my fabric blocks are for reproduction for customers to make items to sell. I sell as many as one would want and you can make all of the personal crafts you want. Just don't reproduce them.

My designer fabric blocks are so unusual and unique. You will not find them anywhere but through me. You can find out more about my fabric blocks on my website: www.vintagemermaidsfabricblocks.com. My designer mermaid fabric blocks range from girly and pastel to bold and wild. I offer a line of very colorful and very unique mermaid fabric blocks titled WILDE CHILD MERMAIDS.

At this time, I am already designing Christmas mermaid fabric blocks. Many crafters want to start early with personal Christmas gifts they will be making for friends and loved ones.

Be sure you purchase fabric blocks from a reputable seller. I know from experience (I have bought a few myself), that some people honestly are doing the best they know how but they do not know how to manufacture fabric blocks that will not bleed when you wash them. My fabric blocks are manufactured on 100% cotton. They arrive at your door prewashed and preshrunk ready for you to use, and the ink is steadfast and will not bleed on you!

I am just sharing with you. I am so excited and pleased with my business. For those of you who already use fabric blocks, then you know how to use them. If some of you would like to try them out, I will be happy to give you all the help you need. It doesn't matter if you purchased mine or someone else's, I will still help you. You may reach me through my website.

Happy crafting. Enjoy fabric blocks. You can do so many beautiful things with them. To name a few , you can apply them to tote bags, tee shirts, pillows, and even lamp shades. Be daring, experiment, and above all, have fun.
