Hello Kitty Sweatband - Free Knitting Pattern
I've been trying out different kinds of sweatband and headband patterns and came up with an idea to make a sweatband pattern out of Hello Kitty's kawaii little face. This is a really simple pattern that can be finished in a few hours. This little sweatband would make a perfect gift for any Hello Kitty fan in your life. Please do not use this pattern for profit!
Supplies Needed
- 1 skein white yarn
- 1 skein black yarn
- 1 skein yellow yarn
- 1 skein pink (or red) yarn
Instructions
Using white yarn, cast on 15 stitches
row 1: (P1, K1) 7 times, P1
row 2: (K1, P1) 7 times, K1
rows 3-20: repeat rows 1 and 2
row 21: (P1, K1) once, P1, switch to black yarn (K1, P1) once, switch to white yarn (K1, P1) once, switch to black again (K1, P1) once, switch back to white (K1, P1) twice.
row 22: (K1, P1) twice, switch to black yarn (K1, P1) once, switch to white yarn (K1, P1) once, switch to black again (K1, P1) once, switch back to white (K1, P1) once, K1
rows 23-27: repeat rows 21 and 22
row 28: in white (P1, K1) 7 times, P1
row 29: (K1, P1) 7 times, K1
rows 30-33: repeat rows 28 and 29
row 34: (P1, K1) 3 times, P1, change to yellow yarn (K1, P1) once K1, switch to white yarn (P1, K1) twice, P1
row 35: (K1, P1) twice, K1, change to yellow yarn (P1, K1) once P1, switch to white yarn (K1, P1) 3 times, K1
row 36: repeat row 34
rows 37-41: repeat rows 28 and 29
rows 42-47: repeat rows 21 and 22
rows 48-67: repeat rows 1 and 2
Bind off and sew the wrong ends together to make the sweatband, weave the ends in
To make the bow:
Using pink yarn cast on 10
row 1: Purl the whole row
row 2: knit the whole row
rows 3-8: repeat rows 1 and 2
bind off, tie a piece of yarn in the center of the piece to make the bow shape, now wrap a few layers of yarn around the center until you are satisfied with the middle of the bow. Sew the bow to the side of the sweatband at an angle.
And there you have it! Your very own Hello Kitty sweatband! Pretty easy, huh!
