Awesome, J.S.! What valuable information you have shared here. I just love all of your photography. I will check this site out for sure and share it with my son, who is an artist and has been looking for somewhere to share his art!

Great hub! Up and more and sharing.

Blessings,

Thanks for this article. FAA is the best site I have ever found for selling art work . Even if you just want to communicate with other artists it's great.

Up, Useful, and Interesting. My wife loves to make art out of about anything -- paints, fabrics, rusty trash, papers, etc. She makes her art works for our apartment or to give to friends. Maybe she will give Fine Art America a try, too.

@Faith Reaper: Hey Faith! Thank you for your comment. I love photography and this site is a great place to sell and display it. Ironically, they just added a new domain name Pixels.com which is a mirror site to Fine Art America. Published this Hub last night and got the email this morning. Maybe I will write a similar Hub with the new domain name? Anyway, thanks again! I hope your son enjoys the site as much as I do!

@Jackie Lynnley: If you have that many photos I suggest you check out the site. You will have to pay for a membership once you pass the basic allowance. I really think it is worth it. Check out Pixels.com it is the same exact site under a brand new domain name. Either way, it will take you to the same page. Good luck! Thanks for stopping by.

@B. Leekley: Hello! I appreciate your votes. Sounds like your wife is very talented. Although I am a photographer, I am not much of an artist lol. I always wanted to be an artist when I was a kid but I didn't even do well in art class. I'll stick to photography! I hope FAA is a good platform for your wife. I am sure she will enjoy the community as well. It is similar to HubPages as far as nice people. Thanks for commenting. Please let me know what she things when she checks it out!

You mentioned in one of your posts that there was a fee for an upgraded membership. There is a fee but it is so small for a year that anyone probably even a homeless person could afford it.

It's really good to start with the basic of 25 uploads . By then an artist will be more proficient and can upgrade.

Thanks galleryofgrace, I agree with you. I think 25 free uploads (with all the perks included) is a great deal. For serious artists who want to expand, paying the (what was it, $34/Year? I forget exactly) is definitely worth it. I only mention it so people know the truth and so that this doesn't look like Spam. Thanks for pointing this out!

Thank you for pointing this out. How do you get paid? Are both of these sites open to people from Asia?

Thank you for sharing this information. I will send this article to a friend looking to list his art work online.

J.S.Matthew profile image

@Adventure Lover: Hello and thanks for stopping by! You get paid by selling prints. FAA will print and ship for you directly to the customer (just about anywhere in the world), and you set the prices for what you expect from your prints.

FAA (Fine Art America/Pixels.com) makes money off the printing and framing; you make money by selling the actual art or image that you own and set the price for.

For example: You upload a photo, someone searches and finds your image and wants to purchase it for their collection. The customer decides what medium they want the print (i.e. Metal Print, Canvas, Framed, etc.) and then they choose the size of the finished product.

You will receive whatever your listed price is for the sale and FAA gets paid for the printing and framing. Those are additional options that the customer must choose when making a purchase. There are many, many customer options.

Both of these sites are available in almost every country of the world. If you are not sure about your specific country, contact the company directly at: http://fineartamerica.com/contactus.html

I hope this answers your question and I wish you the best of success with your art! Nice to meet you. Happy Hubbing!

Hi J.S. Wow, everything I've ever wanted to know about selling Art prints or Photos, is right here in your Hub. A very Interesting and Informative read to be shared with friends.

Voted UP and Interesting.

Glad this helps b. Malin! I am really impressed with the site and have been using it for a few months now. It takes a little time to build your portfolio and for sales but people do search and when they do, you get a weekly update (like HubPages Weekly) notifying you of what was searched, how many times, and where the searches came from by country. I appreciate your comment and for voting and sharing! I hope this site is a good match for you and your work.

@cclitgirl: Hi there Cyndi! Thanks for stopping by and I apologize for the delayed response! I haven't been online for a while. To be honest, I haven't sold any photos yet but I haven't really promoted or updated my portfolio. There are a lot of people making money selling their art there though. I do not have art shows planned at this time. Something to think about! I appreciate you commenting and I hope to hear from you soon!
