Making a banner has never been so easy using a simple program right on your computer we know today as Microsoft PowerPoint. A banner is a great promotional tool used to create buzz for your website, special event, product or service.Go ahead and click on start menu to locate it on your computer. Tah, dah, dee, lah, dum. If you don't see it, type it into the box with the little magnifying glass. Once you open the program:

  1. Go to DESIGN
  2. Click on PAGE SETUP
  3. Where you see Slides sized for: Choose BANNER and click okay.
  4. Or, go back to the same list and choose CUSTOM and enter 27 for the width, and enter 3.55 for the height. Click okay. This is the one I used.

Now you can use any of the power point slides as a background. Experiment with the palette and all the functions it has to offer. I had fun. This thing is so cool. It has built in color themes where you can change background color. Watch how the text color changes also to match with the background. You also have the ability to create your own color theme. You can also toggle between Home and Insert on the palette and use its many functions to design your banner. Here you can add clipart, your own photos (small), and utilize shapes, wordart, etc. Play around with it and you'll see what I'm talking about. This is so neat!

When you're finished with that awesome banner you've just created, saved it as a jpeg by clicking SAVE AS, then click, Other Format and choose jpeg file format.

There you have it! Your own professional looking banner created by you! Don't forget to come back and post a link to your banner so everyone can see it.

Very professional looking banner on your blog and this is a great idea that I will certainly try. I just took a class in PowerPoint and I loved it but I didn't learn about this. It will be very useful for me as I have a website and blogs. I am wondering how it would work for the new Timeline that Facebook just introduced. Will be fun trying it out! Thanks so much for a very informative Hub! Blessings to you daily.
